Design
Every MAEYJA model is born in France, from the hand of designer Canan Delettre. Drawing on architecture, design, art and music, the forms appear simple at first glance; the real story lies in the details. What we seek is the right balance between the functional, the practical, the emotional, the aesthetic and the urban: impeccable and elegant, yet free of formality.
Materials
Our bags are made from genuine leather. The leather is cut only after its grain and texture have been studied, so that the finest side of each piece sits where the bag is most seen. Gold-tone zips and leather pulls complete them.
Stitching and craftsmanship
Wherever possible, each model is shaped by folding a single piece of leather; the fewer the seams, the purer the form and the more durable the bag. Cutting, edge skiving, stitching and edge painting are done by hand. Each bag that leaves the atelier represents around two days of handwork; production is limited.
Artisans
Designed in France, made in Istanbul. Every MAEYJA bag comes to life in our Istanbul atelier, in the hands of master leather artisans. The bridge between these two cities is the heart of the brand.
